Whoever said you couldn't wear white after Labor Day was not familiar with the winter white trend in fashion.
As far back as I can remember, I've always been told
NO white after Labor Day. To some extent, there is some validity to that statement. According to an article in Time Magazine, white was worn during the summer because white articles of clothing allowed the material to breathe. After the summer heat, white clothes were then stored in the closet until the next summer.
But in recent ready-to-ready runway shows at Versace, Gucci, Chanel, and Michael Kors, white coats, pants, and dresses were prevalent on the catwalk. Designers have disregarded the no white rule and have made wearing white in the winter acceptable.
